What does the Excursion Office do?
We organise various trips to companies and institutions for you, depending on your respective fields of study and your main focus. Together with other students, you can get in touch with future employers, network amongst each other and exchange information. That can help you increase your chances of getting an exciting internship or working student job.
We want to actively implement our university’s motto: “Empowering knowledge acquired by practice”. Theoretically acquired knowledge can thus be better interconnected through insights into a wide range of companies and institutions, and it is an encouragement to be aware as to where this knowledge can be applied to later.
At the third ITCS, over 100 exhibitors are waiting for you, with whom you can do more than a just network in a relaxed atmosphere. Simply ask the various experts on-site the questions that you are really interested in for the purpose of your professional orientation.
Companies like Porsche, KPMG, BASF, Lufthansa Technik, Fraport, Deutsche Bank, and Commerzbank are represented. If you are feeling the start-up vibe, you should stop by the Start-up Village where you’ll meet industry visionaries who are just waiting to share their ideas on digitization and innovation with you.
You get the opportunity to prove and develop your soft skills in exciting and versatile workshops. Amongst others, professionals from different tech areas are waiting for you to share their knowledge with you. For example, with PwC in the Cyber Escape Room, you can put your skills as a hacker to the test and find out what it feels like to be on the dark side of the Force, attacking the weak points of modern banking systems.
If this experience does not get under your skin, you will get your money’s worth in the Bodyhacking Workshop. Probably the most famous cyborg in Germany, Dr. Patrick Kramer, will explain everything about body and biohacking and then, of course, only if you feel like it, in less than 2 seconds, with the use of a microchip implant, help you mutate into a cyborg.
